Albert Pike (1809-1891) was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and moved to Arkansas in 1933. He was a lawyer and a brigadier general in the Confederate Army in charge of the Indian Territory. Pike was also an associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court in 1864, and a poet and leader in Freemasonry.
